In a mere two weeks Dragon*Con will be upon us. We here at Double Meat couldn’t be more thrilled. To celebrate the first ever live show from Sasha and Zeke we have a special, sexy, nerdy contest for our listeners at Dragon*Con. It’s a sort of activity-based “scavenger hunt.” You can as naughty and/or nerdy as you like, with the added fun of free-market competition and an amazing prize!

What’s the prize, you ask? You get to be Honorary Meat! The person who racks up the highest score will be up with us, behind a mic for the live show. You’ll be the third Meat in our delicious sandwich with Aubrey de Grey (as seen on the Colbert Report and The Lord of the Rings).

First off, thank you to the 27 wonderful backers who are making the live Double Meat episode at Dragon*Con a possibility. Your generosity is amazing, and we’re both very touched.

We will be putting on the show on Sunday, September 5th at 10pm EST in the Hilton 204 (where the main podcasting track all takes place). We will be recording our special super secret backer-only episode at a time, day, and location yet to be determined, but we promise not to wear pants.

For those of you who have donated, thanks again; your cards will be charged by Kickstarter in a few days, at 5pm EST on August 6th. If you have not yet backed the project, we’re still acepting donations. These donations will be used to cover the fullfillment of material rewards (photos and t-shirts) and keeping Sasha and Zeke well lubricated during the con. You have until 5pm EST on August 6th to plege a mere $5 to get a copy of the very special super secret episode. Think of it as buying us a drink – with benefits.

Our fundraising is going quite well. We have raised $485 dollars after this last weekend, with only $415 bto go. What’s more, there have been 10 backers donating an average of $48.50 each! We don’t require large donations, every penny helps, but we can still use your help! Donating $5 means you will get the special backer-only episode of the podcast, but even a single dollar helps!

If, like me, you are on a tight budget it might help your planning to know that no money changes hands until August 6th, and only then your card isn’t charged unless we reach or exceed our goal.
